Starting from Piazzale della Pace we arrive at Pope John’s birthplace , the church of S. Maria di Brusico, and today’s parish church. The itinerary includes the visit to his summer residence known as Ca’ Maitino, today a museum. The S. Giovanni castle is towering above the old village where Pope John grew up. His birthplace and the churches connected with his name and this great personage are integral parts of a territory that is still marked by an atmosphere of peace and serenity.
